“Puzzle Pieces to Love”
I wake; the pillow to next me
It is desert, though an imprint remains.
Cold to the touch, but fragrant with spices
Of You; though you are gone.
Who are you?
How did I find my way
Home to a blissful sleep?
Untouched. Unspoiled.
You were here all night
Caressing my hair
Like a mother, and protecting me
Like a father you held me
I trusted You; I wanted to.
I needed to know You existed.
But do you? Is it all a memory?
I wake; the pillow to next me
It is desert, though an imprint remains.
Cold to the touch, but fragrant with spices
Of You; though you are gone.
Who are you?
How did I find my way
Home to a blissful sleep?
Untouched. Unspoiled.
You were here all night
Caressing my hair
Like a mother, and protecting me
Like a father you held me
I trusted You; I wanted to.
I needed to know You existed.
But do you? Is it all a memory?
Or a mistaken déjà vu?
I must find You
Because You found me;
Hold You close and
Not let You go…..not this time.
I must find You
Because You found me;
Hold You close and
Not let You go…..not this time.
